Samantha Lara was born in Corpus Christi, Texas and raised in Brownsville, Texas. She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, with a minor in criminal justice, from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. After completing her undergraduate studies, Samantha attended the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

During her time at OCU, Samantha was a member of the Health Law Student Association, Hispanic Law Student Association, American Constitution Society, and the Organization for the Advancement of Women in Law. Prior to joining Pierce Couch, Samantha interned with Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma and clerked for the honorable Judge Lumpkin with the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.
