Congratulations Jason on your Appointment

Pierce Couch is honored to congratulate former partner Jason Robertson who has been appointed as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of Oklahoma!

After law school, Judge Robertson was a public defender for Tulsa County. He then joined Pierce Couch in 2010, where he handled various types of cases ranging from municipal liability and civil rights, to general and professional liability, as well as bad faith and construction litigation. Judge Robertson succeeds Judge Steven P. Shreder, and is the first Cherokee Nation citizen to be appointed as a United States Magistrate Judge. He is also currently the only Native American currently serving on the federal bench in Oklahoma. Judge Robertson’s swearing in ceremony was June 24, 2022 where Pierce Couch partner Mark Hardin delivered congratulatory remarks, and Judge Robertson was officially robed by his wife Noelle and daughter Darbi. We are immensely proud of Judge Robertson and wish him much success in this new chapter.
